Staff Engineer – Kennesaw, Georgia

Job Description:

The successful Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer will complement our existing successful geotechnical engineering team. The traits we desire are: be proficiency in the fundamentals of civil engineering with course work in geotechnical engineering. Must be proficient in technical writing of geotechnical reports; excellent analytical, communication, and writing skills are required. This position offers a range of meaningful technical and business opportunities and requires that the candidate be independent thinker, well-rounded and results- oriented. The right candidates will be mentored and trained by veteran engineers with extensive national and international experience.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • BS degree (MS degree is preferred) in Civil Engineering with concentration in Geotechnical Engineering or construction
  • Related experience with a consulting engineering firm and knowledge of geotechnical engineering practices is a plus
  • High preference will be afforded to candidates with knowledge of local geology and subsurface conditions in the Southeast of the USA
  • Experience with geotechnical site characterization, evaluation, recommendations, and construction materials testing is a plus

Geotechnical Project Manager – Kennesaw, Georgia

Job Description:

The ideal candidate must have experience in transportation and heavy civil infrastructure projects with geotechnical engineering emphasis. Geotechnical experience with GDOT projects is preferred. This position requires technical competence and effective communication. Experience with project management is required. Strong analytical and computer skills are highly desirable in areas including slope stability analysis, retaining wall analysis, bearing capacity analysis, settlement analysis, pile design and deep and shallow foundation design (including both ASD and LRFD methodologies). Field Technician – Tampa, Florida

Job Description:

  • Read construction plans and review for constructability, utilization of appropriate materials, and provide value engineering
  • Walk the project ahead of the contractor’s work schedule to identify potential unforeseen conflicts.
  • Provide construction inspection for roadway, aviation, utility, and site development projects for conformance to construction plans, specifications, and other documents.
  • Document the contractors progress with Daily Inspection Reports including notes, photos, quantities, and weather.
  • Verify materials delivered to the jobsite match the approved submittals.
  • Monitor contractor’s schedules throughout the project and keep an accurate log of contract days used and remaining.
  • Measure and document quantities of work performed each day and review/verify quantities on Contractor’s monthly payment applications.
  • Advise the Project Manager/Engineer of the work progress and field issues as they arise.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Pile Driving Analysis (PDA) experience, preferred
  • Qualified candidate must have a valid driver’s license and retain a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans, specifications, and contracts.
  • Ability to travel for out-of-town projects as needed.
  • Ability to work the hours dictated by the contractor’s schedule on short notice.
  • Possess the ability to stand on your feet for approximately 3 hours minimum a day up to 8 hours a day.
  • Possess the ability to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material (mud, gravel, rutted ground etc.)
  • Be able to wear and work using standard PPE, i.e. hard hats, safety vest, work boots, safety glasses/goggles.
  • Inspector Certifications:
    • High school diploma preferred or GED diploma
    • ACI (desired)
    • CTQP Certifications (desired)
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Confidently communicate and respond to feedback.
  • Interact positively and professionally with other employees, as well as contractors, clients, industry professionals, and residents/business owners impacted by construction.
  • Apply professional judgment to efficiently perform the inspection responsibilities with the least possible interruption to the contractor/work progress.
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy in all of his/her work and documentation.

Field Technicians & Inspectors (Multiple Positions, No Experience Necessary) – LaBelle, Florida (Outside Ft. Myers)

Qualifications and Skills:

  • We are looking for field and/or lab technicians for soil cement testing
  • Earthwork inspection and testing, a plus
  • Soil Cement Experience, a plus
  • Willing to train a candidate with the right attitude and willingness to learn
  • Qualified candidates must have a valid driver’s license, a clean motor vehicle report (MVR), and reliable means of transport to and from the office
